The BSB50407 Diploma of Business Administration is part of the Business Services Training Package and will provide a recognised qualification for persons operating in a variety of roles including, Receptionist, Personal Assistant, Executive Secretary, Office Manager, Small Business Owner/Operator, Business Manager, Project Assistant, etc. The package takes account of the needs of all clients, rural, and remote, in small or large business, on the job, or off the job.

Diploma Course Outline
The BSB50407 Diploma of Business Administration reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team. They may include, for example, General Administration, Project Management, Small Business Management, Marketing, and Technology domains.

Participants must demonstrate competency in eight (8) units for the award.
A minimum of five (5) Diploma of Business Administration unit and three relevant (3) units from the Business Services Training Package, or any other currently endorsed Training Package. One (1) elective unit may be included from a Certificate IV or Advanced Diploma, or higher level for this qualification.

This unit describes theperformance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation process, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting outcomes.

BSBADM504B  Plan or review administration systems
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowlege required to plan or review the requirements of effective administration systems and procedures for implementing, monitoring and reviewing the system.

BSBADM506B Manage business document design and development.
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish standards for the design and production of organisational documents and to manage document design and production processes to ensure agreed standards are met.

BSBADM503B Plan and manage conferences
This Unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, promote and coordinate conferences, ensuring follow up procedures are incorporated.

BSBPMG501A Manage projects
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a straight forward project, or a section of a project. It focuses on the application of project management skills and the requirement to meet time lines, quality standards, budgetary limits and other requirements set for the project

BSBITB501A Establish and maintain a workgroup computer network.
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish a workgroup computer network with an information technology consultant, and to manage the network by keeping records, responding to problems, assisting users and providing training.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to facilitate all aspects of team work within the organisation. It involves taking a leadership role in development of team plans, leading and facilitating team work and actively engaging with organisation management.

BSBINN502A Build and sustain an innovative work environment
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to create an environment that enables and supports the application of innovative practice. This may include the development of creative and flexible approaches to manage emerging opportunities, challenges and change.

BSBLED501A Develop a workplace learning environment
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to encourage and support the development of a learning environment environment in which work and learning come together. Particular emphasis is on the development of strategies to facilitate and promote learning and to monitor and improve learning performance.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to ledge required to gather, organise and present workplace information using available systems.

BSBADM405B Organise Meetings
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to organise meetings, including making arrangements, liaising with participants and developing and distributing meeting related related documentation (may include notifying participants, providing agendas, papers and minutes).

BSBSMB403A Market the small business
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop and implement marketing strategies and to monitor and improve market performance. It is suitable micro and small businesses, or a department in a larger organisation.
